I create my tiles from slabs of clay that I roll out on a slab roller. I add all layers, textures, and details to the piece, along with embedded wire loops for hanging. Once the tiles are dry (usually 7 t0 10 days) they are fired in my studio kiln to bisque (1928 degrees Fahrenheit). When cool, I hand paint each tile with several colors and layers of glaze. The tiles are then fired again to 1855 degrees Fahrenheit. Because I do not use molds in my work, each item is a unique, one of a kind piece of art!
