I create my little sculptures from a mid-fire sculpture clay.  I use my hands to pinch form the base as well as shaping all of the little elements of each scene.  I add all layers, textures, and details to the piece as the original idea evolves into a tiny world.  When the sculpture is dry (usually 7 t0 10 days) they are fired in my studio kiln to bisque (1855 degrees Fahrenheit).  When cool, I hand paint each piece with several colors and layers of glaze.  The pieces are then fired again to over 2200 degrees Fahrenheit.  Because I do not use molds in my work, each item is a unique, one of a kind piece of art!
