One of a kind Ceramic wall art tile with hand dyed recycled sari silk cord for hanging. Approximately 6" x 6" x .25" with embedded wire loops for hanging. The tile is signed on the back. Colors and textures may vary from example.
I create my tiles from slabs of clay that that I roll out on my studio slab roller. I add all textures and details to the piece, along with embedded wire loops for hanging. Once the tiles are dry (usually 7 t0 10 days) they are fired in my studio kiln to bisque (1928 degrees Fahrenheit). When cool, I hand paint each tile with several colors and layers of glaze. The tiles are then fired again to 1855 degrees Fahrenheit. Because I don't use molds in my work all of my pieces are unique and one of a kind.
