I create my my game boards from high quality natural leather sides that I add details to with my woodburner. Color is added to each board by painting the dyes directly only to leather. The boards are sealed, as well as signed and dated on the back. The game pieces are created individually from either earthenware clay, from mid-fire clays such as porcelain, stoneware, or sculpture clay. I create each piece using my hands to pinch form or from slabs of clay. I add all layers, textures, and details to the pieces as the original idea evolves. Once the pieces are dry (usually 7 t0 10 days) they are fired in my studio kiln to bisque (1855 degrees Fahrenheit). When cool, I hand paint each piece with several colors and layers of glaze. The pieces are then fired again to over 2200 degrees Fahrenheit for the mid-fire clays and over 1800 degrees for earthenware. Because I do not use molds in my work, each item is a unique, one of a kind piece of art! All items are made to order and will be a version of the example shown in each listing. Orders require approximately 4-6 weeks to create.
